Michelle B. Smith


After graduating from Clemson University with an accounting degree, Michelle has spent nearly 25 years devoted to corporate accounting. She worked with large national/global corporations for almost a decade, and has since focused on small, privately owned businesses.

She has extensive experience with start-up companies working in both the financial and operational sides of the business. She is passionate about helping business owners establish their market niche and creating and implementing business plans for current size and future growth.

Michelle also provides business consulting focused on your profitability such as personally tailored cash flow management and developing relationships with banks and other financial institutions to acquire lines of credit and financing.


Kerry Hanne

Account Manager

A certified QuickBooks professional, with years of banking and bookkeeping experience, Kerry has a passion for details and continues to add great value to our team by providing our customers a professional and consistently accurate level of service.

She has been with us since 2013, performing bookkeeping, accounting and payroll services. She is a QuickBooks desktop and online expert.

Kerry is a graduate of Penn State University.


Tricia Broadnax

Account Manager

Before taking time off to raise her family, Tricia worked as a project manager at Bank of America. She also has experience in client relationship and vendor management.

Tricia joined MBS in 2016 and has since become a QuickBooks desk-top professional and a payroll specialist. She is a brilliant client manager and provides our customers with continuous contact and brings a strong level of professionalism to each and every challenge she encounters.

Tricia is a 1987 graduate of Winthrop University.





Carolyn Powell

Accounting Assistant

Carolyn is a recent college graduate, who spent time working in the mental health profession, before returning back to her home town of Charlotte. Before joining MBS she worked as a recruiter.

Since joining MBS in 2016, she has been a quick study on QuickBooks and has become our in-house Adobe Illustrator expert. Carolyn brings a high energy level with her to work every day, is naturally inquisitive and always seeking answers to benefit our clients.

Carolyn is a Roanoke College graduate with a double major in Psychology and Spanish.


Mary Macalady

Office Assistant

Prior to joining us, Mary worked for 15 years as an RN and 17 years as an office administrator for a school district in Denver, Colorado.  She brings with her an attention to details and a quiet confidence.

Since joining MBS, Mary has created a more organized atmosphere and has greatly improved the work flow in our office.  She is an excellent office assistant providing quick and accurate results for our clients.

Mary has a diploma in Nursing from Robert Packer School of Nursing/Elmira College (Elmira, NY).
